Fieldview designs and develops training programmes customised to the needs of operational organisations. If requested, we can also implement and run a tailored training programme. We deliver tailored training programmes at both the field and headquarters level.
Field operations in conflict are under great stress to respond to daily crises and are often challenged to provide regular training for staff. Fieldview is steadily gathering best practices from the field and developing creative training methodologies to both teach and inspire practitioners to improve their work.
Fieldview consultants have led the way in helping international organisations to better incorporate these lessons into their daily operations, including through:
- Collaboration on the development and rollout of the Protection Standby Capacity (ProCap) training of the United Nations Office of Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), including development of a full training manual and training-of-trainers methodologies.
- Development of training modules for human rights officers of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), including writing and editing of substantial portions of the OHCHR Manual on Human Rights Monitoring and Protection (yet-to-be-published).
- Protection training design and delivery for headquarters and field staff of the World Food Programme.
- Protection training for Sudan-based field staff of the World Food Program and representatives of the rest of the UN Country Team.
- Training in analysis, strategy and communication for the United Nations mission to Sudan (UNMIS-DPKO) including Civil Affairs, Protection and Human Rights Officers.
- Training module development for the Folke Bernadotte Academy (Swedish government) on Civilian Monitoring and Observation.
- Training development and delivery for Peace Brigades International, the NGO that developed the tactic of protective accompaniment of threatened human rights defenders and civil society activists.
